The course examines the role and possibilities of the performing arts (such as theater, dance, performance) as pedagogical tools in the modern educational reality, focusing on the stages of compulsory education up to high school. Through a theoretical approach and experiential learning, students explore the basic educational theories, the shifts from modernity to postmodernity, the importance of curricula, as well as methods that utilize creativity, collaboration and the meaning of culture in school practice. The course includes lectures, workshops, analysis of texts and examples, with the aim of understanding and applying the performing arts in interdisciplinary and experiential teaching.
At the end of the course, students will be able to:
Understand basic theoretical principles of pedagogy and educational research in relation to the performing arts.
Recognize the relationships between art, culture, and the learning process in the modern and postmodern school.
Analyze pedagogical methods that utilize the performing arts to develop critical thinking and creativity.
Apply teaching techniques using theater, dramatization and other performance practices in the classroom.
Interdisciplinarily connect performing arts with curricula, seeking to integrate art as a learning tool.
Organize and design educational programs aimed at aesthetic education and experiential learning.
Evaluate examples and practical applications from contemporary school and the performing arts.
